Shifting Microcosm

Shifting Microcosm is an online interactive visualization of research data on High Arctic lakes. This research, conducted by dr. Wim. Z. Hoek, showed quite some changes in ecology, which could be linked to climate changes. The visualization tries to convey the trends in this data while also showing human influence on this ecology through interaction.

Shifting Microcosm is a collaboration between Jolande Venema and me.
